On today’s blog, we’re thrilled to share an incredible experience that Jacob and I had at the end of August! If you follow us on social media, you may have already heard a bit about it, but now we’re excited to share the full story. On August 27th, Dolly Parton came to Kansas City to celebrate Missouri becoming the 14th state to commit to a Statewide Imagination Library. Even more exciting, Missouri is the first state to have the program fully funded! This is such a huge step forward for childhood literacy in our state, and we were honored to play a special part in it.
The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education reached out to us with a special request: to create a custom book as a gift to Dolly Parton herself, on behalf of the people of Missouri. We were blown away by the opportunity. As you know, we pour our hearts into every handcrafted book we make, and this project was no exception. Creating something for such an iconic figure, who has done so much for children’s literacy, was a true honor.
The big day arrived, and Jacob and I had the privilege of attending the ceremony where Missouri’s First Lady personally handed our book to Dolly Parton. It was a surreal moment to see our work in her hands, knowing that it represented not only our craftsmanship but also the support of so many families who believe in the importance of early reading.
We are so grateful to all of you, our amazing customers, for supporting our journey and helping us reach new milestones like this one. Your support has allowed our small business to grow, and this opportunity marks an exciting chapter for us. We’re so excited about what’s to come, and we couldn’t have done it without you!
This is amazing! Yours is the perfect symbolic representation of all who love and value our book friends!
